I remember the days when my brother and I would go to our public library and have to look through the card catalog to find a book that we were looking for. Have times changed!!!
Did you also go visit the bookmobile? We didn't have a branch library until I was about 8, do the bookmobile came to the Weingarten's parking lot every 2 weeks. I really looked forward to going!
We were in a large enough town that we did have a branch library. I think they tried to have a bookmobile, but it didn't strike up enough interest to keep it going. Although you could be right and it actually went out to the rural areas instead.
